Kai by KAUFAST — Privacy-first AI assistant
Kai is a self-hosted app. All your data lives on your own device or server — not on our infrastructure. You have full control over your data at all times.
This permanently deletes your account and all associated data.
Go to your Kai app or visit your Kai URL in a browser.
Tap the gear icon in the sidebar, then select the "Data" section.
Enter your PIN to confirm. This will permanently delete all tables and recreate a fresh database. There is no undo.
You can selectively delete data while keeping your account:
Swipe left or use the delete button on any conversation. Use "Nuclear Delete" to remove a message and everything after it.
Delete individual items from their respective panels. Swipe gestures supported on mobile.
In Settings → Data, use "Export Data" to download a full backup, then "Wipe All Data" to clear everything while keeping your account.
After a factory reset or full data wipe, all data is permanently removed from the local database. Since Kai is self-hosted, no data exists on external servers to delete. Chat messages sent to the AI provider (Groq) are processed ephemerally and not retained.
Kai does not retain any user data on KAUFAST servers. All data is stored locally on your self-hosted device. When you delete data, it is immediately and permanently removed from the local SQLite database. There is no additional retention period.
